What is a Dream?
The blog reflects on A Dream Deferred, an award-winning play by Celeste A. Frazier, using its story as a lens to explore the nature of dreams, loss, and personal freedom. Through the journey of a man confronting his past, the piece examines how unresolved grief and fear can cause dreams to be deferred, and invites readers to reflect on their own dreams—whether they are cherished, feared, or ignored—and the courage required to pursue them.

But I Don’t Want to Forgive!
Forgiving is a way to make myself feel lighter. I forgive to feel freer! It’s a lot to carry around heaviness. I want to free up my mind for other things.

Be Light!
We say “God is Light” but that does not mean that God is a physical representation of something bright. Art uses light in paintings to attempt to capture the Essence of someone. God’s nature in us can be seen through our purity, our holiness, our Truth and noticing how God is working in our lives. Light is being used as a metaphor, a symbol for the Presence within us. The phrase “God is light” encapsulates various aspects of God’s nature, including Its purity, holiness, truth

Growing
We grew up with an array of authorities laying down rules, watching our behavior, and punishing us for our errors. Later, as adults, we perhaps haven’t stopped to realize that we are accountable for our own lives, and no longer need parents, teachers, and churches to tell us how to behave. We don’t need the fear of punishment to manipulate us into leading “good” lives.
