Be Light!

We say “God is Light” but that does not mean that God is a physical representation of something bright. Art uses light in paintings to attempt to capture the Essence of someone.

God’s nature in us can be seen through our purity, our holiness, our Truth and noticing how God is working in our lives. Light is being used as a metaphor, a symbol for the Presence within us.

The phrase “God is light” encapsulates various aspects of God’s nature, including Its purity, holiness, truth, and guidance. We don’t lose our purity when we engage in an unclean act. We become starkly aware of the contrast. That Light also sustains our goodness. Light is not able to leave us. It is the very thing that keeps us in our Joy, our Peace, our kindness and our Creative Mind.

God is the Light of the world and God is the Light of the Spirit. Because God is a Presence that is never an absence. We can never be outside of Light. Even if we are tempted to do something harmful, unethical or impolite, Light is still there reminding us of Who We Are. God is the Light that allows us to see our darkness. God is the Light that creates by means of us. Our talented artists who display their work monthly keep us aware of this Light. Our talented musicians who play for us weekly remind us of the Light with each note, each key, each range and each truth. It is the spirit of someone that we remember, not their looks. Looks change for the better or not.

Spirit requires us to notice It. When we choose to turn toward it, we are not only blessed but a blessing! The light saber works by using power to send energy. What type of Power are you using to send energy. Is it dark power or white power? It can illuminate. It can welcome. It can warm. Do you gift your Light? Do you shine in the dark? Are you even aware of your Light? Do you use it for good?

Darkness may appear to be about deception and opposition to good, but it is limited and defeated by Light – the power of God.

I encourage you to be Light! And shine!
