Real Freedom

“Real freedom (according to Ernest Holmes) means that man(/woman/nonbinary) is created in the image of perfection and let alone and allowed to make the discovery for himself.” Knowing real freedom is accepting our freedom to discover ourselves. Wow! Fancy that! Accepting our freedom is huge!! It appears that we do not believe we are perfect. And, sadly, the frustration that follows often affects others. We simply cannot be free to love anyone when we cannot love ourselves. And by loving ourselves, I mean accepting ourselves as images of perfection. We look like perfection. And what is Perfection but the Creator Itself? I don’t believe it means that we physically look like God, although since there is nothing outside of God, the totality of what we are as a composite reflects God. As multifarious as we are, we cannot possibly be outside of God. We are diverse, varied, mixed, and yet we are all made from Perfection Itself! Surely, we must accept that – regardless of our choices – we are not manufacturer defects!

Do we have flaws? Yes. Are we imperfect? Yes. But we are also Perfect! We were not made unsafe or unusable. Even if our design is different from the rest, this does not make us substandard! Whether or not there were errors during assembly, our birth perfected us as living beings. We may have unique features, missing a digit or having more than the blueprint from which we were born. But we are still perfectly made.

If our thinking causes us to harm another, depending upon our age, our parents may or may not be liable for our failure to perform as desired. And, because we are perfectly made, we are free to find our way to excellence, just as we are free to find our way to failure. When we are adults, we are clear that we are responsible for our choices – whether we like this fact or not. When we discover something about ourselves, we are free to heal from our dis-ease. And please note that the dis-ease is not physical but mental. One can heal mentally and thereby heal physically. But rarely does the physical heal before the mental heals.

When Ernest Holmes asks us to understand the Truth, he is inviting us to know Principle as emancipator. Because we can use the Law of Mind in many ways, we can also understand that this Law is the Law of the Spirit. When we realize this, we can use the Power for good! There is no limit to the Good we can have. And there is no limit to the Wholeness we can know.

We are free to misuse the Mental Law of the Universe, yet when we do, we are choosing from a limited understanding. When one can choose infinitely, why limit yourself to that which will diminish you instead of choosing that which will expand you? The Law works the same as a servant to the Spirit/spirit. We can choose to stand in our Higher Self or choose to minimize ourselves as less than the Infinite.

Stepping into the realm of the Infinite opens windows, doors and pathways to Power, Peace and Prosperity. Stepping into a limited realm of insufficiency closes windows, doors and pathways. Following the lesser leads us to self-disdain, self-punishment and self-loathing.

Self-disdain an internal battle many individuals face at some point in their lives. It often stirs from unrealistic societal expectations, resurfacing painful personal experiences, or negative cognitive patterns. When we can turn inward and not outward with intentions to compare, we may discover just how loved we are by God. We may catch in consciousness how awesome the Source of our life is and how similar we are to It. When we discover our spiritual dimension, we can release the expectations of the outer and tune into the Inner Power that is our true Substance.

Self-punishment looks like deliberate actions to harm oneself due to feelings of guilt, shame or perceived wrongdoing. It could be anywhere from negative self-talk to denying oneself pleasure or reward as a form of atonement. Were we to believe someone else’s opinion of us – no matter what their authority or position they hold in our lives; we can potentially become discouraged to the point where the disdain turns inward. As destructive as that mindset may be, we also have the choice to disagree with that belief. After all, it’s only a thought!

Self-loathing reveals a belief and view where you believe you aren’t good enough. Says who? If it seems ridiculous to listen to an Invisible Substance rather than a tormentor, there may be a fear of being magnificent. After all, who am I to think that I am actually made in the Substance of Love? Who am I to think I was created by the greatest Power there is? Who am I to refuse adopting the thoughts of an oppressor when all the while I am unconditionally loved and supported? The answer is you Yes Omnipresent Unequivocally Unique Undeniably Ubiquitous! You are present, powerful and perfect!!

Please don’t keep your perfect you under a bushel! We are waiting for you. You may be the very one we need. You are the answered prayer. You are genuine, gorgeous, great, and gregarious. You are the reflection of me. You show me Who I Am – not because of what you say but because you are so fully you so I can be fully me.

Would we embrace All That We Are, the world would be all it is meant to be. The real freedom comes in embracing our Perfection, the Completeness of our Being, the Whole of our Soul. When we do so, everything can be all that is promised. When we say yes to Who We Are, each of us are blessed by each other.

Namaste’.
