Artist of the Month Reception (Aug)

On Sunday, August 10th, The CSL Art Committee hosted an artist reception for Alison Bozarth and her collection, Tiny People’s Exotic Pet Shop, currently on display in Scott Hall throughout the month of August.

Alison Bozarth shared an intimate look into her creative process, working with vibrant watercolors on smooth, non-porous yupo paper. A lifelong animal lover, Alison weaves her passion for wildlife into each piece, portraying majestic creatures in bold, fluid color.

Adding a playful twist, she subtly tucks tiny, shadowy silhouettes of human figures into the scenes. These miniature characters create a striking sense of scale against the enormous beasts while inviting viewers into a visual game—something reminiscent of Where’s Waldo or I Spy. The result is a body of work that balances curiosity, wonder, and whimsy, leaving audiences both enchanted and engaged.

If you missed the reception, there’s still time to experience Alison's work. Her collection will remain on view at CSL through the end of August. You can stop by Tuesday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. All pieces are available for purchase in the Rising Thought Gifts & Bookstore.
