Artist of the Month
(October)
Matt “Rebel” Jones is a self-taught abstract impressionistic artist who discovered his passion for painting later in life. Embracing creativity as an intuitive process, Matt allows each piece to emerge from the moment—shaped by music, energy, and emotion. He does not work from drawings or photographs; instead, he begins with a vision in his mind and lets it evolve organically on the canvas.

Exploring a wide range of mediums and techniques, Matt has developed a style that is uniquely his own. His subjects often reflect the things that inspire him most: the rhythm of music, the calm of serene landscapes, and a touch of playful humor with clever alcoholic puns woven into his work.
Matt will be displaying his artwork in Scott Hall October 1 - October 31.

Opening Reception
On Sunday, October 12 the CSL Art Committee hosted a warm and inspiring artist reception for Matt "Rebel" Jones and his collection, "Rebel Art." During his artist reception, Matt shared how art serves as his grounding force — a way to stay sane and centered in an often chaotic world. Creating art, he said, is his outlet and source of calm and he almost always has music playing in the background to draw out inspiration.
