Artist of the Month
(January)

Chris Burton began her artistic journey as a formally trained Graphic Designer, earning a BFA with a second career in Education as a teacher assistant until her retirement in 2020. She has shared her passion for art with both children and adults, teaching a diverse range of classes centered around experimentation and “process art.” Her playful, intuitive approach inspired offerings such as Improvisational Painting, Intuitive/Zen Drawing, and joyful Collage workshops. For Chris, it’s really all about Creativity and Connection, and bringing out The Light in another.

Chris’ exhibit, "Looking Up Looking Out Looking Within," showcases her Intuitive Expressions through paint, fiber, and mixed media. Her artwork emerges from a profound connection to both the spiritual and natural worlds. She approaches each piece intuitively, often discovering unexpected images and emotions as they unfold. She also creates original mandalas rooted in symbology, exploring the deeper meanings found within pattern, form, and inner stillness.
Chris will be displaying her artwork in Scott Hall January 2 - January 31.
Her artwork will also be for sale! Visit the rising thought bookstore to purchase.

Her exhibit "Looking Up Looking Out Looking Within" is currently on display in Scott Hall throughout the month of January. Chris has filled the space with a rich variety of abstracts, mandalas, and mixed media collages, and each piece feels layered with story and intention—art that rewards you the longer you linger with it.
