Luisa Otero Prada
Luisa Otero-Prada is a St. Louis–based visual artist, architect, teaching artist, and community artist originally from Colombia. Since making St. Louis her home in 2004, she has developed a vibrant body of work characterized by expressive flora, colorful abstractions, and imagery inspired by nature, memory, identity, and belonging.
Luisa earned a degree in Architecture from La Salle University in Bogotá, Colombia, and later completed the Regional Arts Commission’s Community Arts Institute in 2016 and Teaching Artist Institute in 2020. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural institutions locally and regionally, including the Missouri History Museum.
Her community arts experience includes serving as an art facilitator with PEACE Weaving Wholeness, a teaching artist-in-residence with Artscope, and currently as Youth Programs Coordinator for Bread and Roses Missouri. She was selected for the St. Louis Art Fair Emerging Artist Program in 2022–2023.
Luisa was honored as the Visionary Awards Community Impact Artist in 2024 and received the 2026 Adelante Award for Artist of the Year from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis.
