Artists of the Month

(June)

Meegan is a dot-mandala artist whose lifelong love of making—spanning drawing, sculpture, ceramics, design, writing, costume and craft—has always been guided by curiosity and storytelling. Inspired by indigenous and ethnic folk art traditions (including Meenakari, Kalamkari, Lippan, Gond, and Madhubani) and by memories of her grandmother sketching mandalas, she creates meditative, detail-rich works that celebrate the beauty of imperfection.

Since beginning to exhibit in 2023, Meegan has presented work in two shared shows and one solo exhibit, earned second place in three community shows, leads dot-mandala workshops for adults and children, and helps curate rotating exhibits at a local restaurant in Maplewood, Missouri.

She believes each piece becomes “an organically perfect collective”—a reflection of nature, growth, and the human experience.

Gray Finch is a mixed-media artist creating contemplative work rooted in spirituality, healing, and meditation—pieces meant to meet viewers in that quiet place where meaning is felt more than explained.

Guided by the legacy of his grandmother, painter Blanche Fischel Claggett, Finch approaches art as a lineage and a conversation across time, returning again and again to the peace and stillness found in her shapes, shadows, and presence.

As an artist in recovery, Finch’s practice became a lifeline: a space for honest, cathartic expression and ongoing growth. His evolving work explores interconnection and transformation through themes such as reincarnation, reverence for the animal kingdom, Buddhism, Western philosophy, and evolution—an alchemical process that is poetic, nuanced, and quietly mystical.
